Here’s exactly what to expect
No surprises: here’s a full walkthrough of what happens from booking to your finished result.

Step by step
- Book online: choose your clinic and time via our booking widget.
- Arrive & check in: a few minutes early is plenty; there’s no lengthy paperwork.
- Quick consultation: your practitioner asks about your teeth, any sensitivity, and what you’re hoping for.
- Treatment: the whitening treatment itself, with your practitioner checking in throughout.
- Aftercare guidance: simple, practical tips to help your results last.
- Results & follow-up: walk out with a visibly brighter smile, and book your next visit or membership whenever suits.
What to bring / how to prepare
- Skip acidic foods, citrus and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours beforehand, to protect your enamel and reduce sensitivity.
- Brush gently as normal, but skip harsh whitening toothpastes on the morning of your visit so your gums aren’t irritated.
- Avoid coffee, tea and other caffeinated drinks right before your session.
- Eat a light meal beforehand, as you’ll need to avoid dark-coloured food and drink straight after.
- Wear comfortable clothes. Your session takes 75 or 90 minutes, depending on your treatment.
- Just yourself. Part of your treatment is spent relaxing under the whitening light, so bring headphones and something to keep you entertained, like a podcast, music or an audiobook.
- Tell your practitioner before your treatment if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have sensitive teeth, gum disease, cavities or recent dental work, have crowns, veneers or fillings at the front of your mouth, have any allergies (including to peroxide), or take medication or have a health condition you’re unsure about. If in doubt, check with your dentist or doctor first, and if you’re feeling unwell on the day, please reschedule.
You’re in control the whole way through
Your practitioner checks in with you throughout the appointment. If anything feels uncomfortable, just say so and we’ll adjust. Nothing happens without you knowing what’s coming next.
Before and after

Can someone come with me?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to bring someone along, and we’ll make room for them with you in the treatment room.
Is there any downtime afterward?
The main aftercare is what you eat and drink. For the first few days, stick to white or light-coloured food, and avoid coffee, black tea, red wine and beer for at least a week. Our FAQs have a full list of what to eat and what to avoid.
